Heels 98, Ducks 69
UNC's Green continues torrid streak in Hawaii

North Carolina's Danny Green scored 21 points, including 15 on three-pointers early in the game, as the Tar Heels ran away from Oregon 98-69 in the second round the of Maui Invitational. (11/25)

Green's first three made it 5-2; his second three from the corner made it 14-6; his third gave the Heels their first double digit lead at 18-8; his fourth put Carolina up 25-12 and his fifth three-pointer near the end of the half made it 49-21.

A Wayne Ellington shot at the buzzer gave the Heels a 51-22 lead at the half, a half that saw the Ducks go nearly seven minutes without a basket. The Ducks, who shot 30 percent for the game, was only one of 14 from behind the three-point-line in the first half.

Tyler Hansbrough played sparingly but still managed 16 points, most of which came from the free throw line. Ellington scored 13 while Ed Davis and Deon Thompson each scored 11. Thompson also hauled down 13 rebounds.

The only negative for the Heels came in the second half when they were sloppy at times. Carolina finished with a season-high 18 turnovers. "We didn't maintain our concentration in the second half," Coach Roy Williams said. "In the first half we were pretty doggone good."

The Heels (5-0) now play Notre Dame for the championship of the 25th annual Maui tournament. Hansbrough, bothered by a minor ankle injury, is questionable for the game.
